World’s Greatest Vintage Guitar Store
Chicago Music Exchange is known as one of the world’s greatest vintage guitar stores. In 2012, owner David Kalt was in search of an on-staff filmmaker and approached CHVA to help with the visual needs of the company. After serving the needs of the company for three years, Chris had created hundreds of videos for CME’s marketing needs and YouTube channel. During Chris’s time at Chicago Music Exchange, he filmed everything from guitar demos to in-store artist performances, commercials, documentaries and most notably, a viral video known as 100 Riffs.
Out of the success of these efforts, Crain’s Chicago Business awarded CME for best of use of video for marketing. CME owner David Kalt then went on to create a company called Reverb.com that Chris was asked to join at its inception and continue similar video efforts to help grow this video business. Reverb is now the largest online store to buy, sell, and trade used instruments.
